The beer pours a translucent amber-hued gold with a creamy tan coloured head. The aroma is grains, yeast, and citrusy hops. Reminds me of a west coast IPA. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is pine, citrus, and caramel. Quite good!

16-ounce can from Central City. Pour of clear, dark gold under an enduring fluffy white head. Aroma was significantly piney, along with generous hop and citrus (grapefruit) notes. Flavour was much the same, but mouthfeel not what I'd wanted. Decent effort.

After bubbly head quickly dissipates, beer looks less than average and leaves no lacing. Sweet and earthy aroma. Flavour is a little better than the appearance. Caramel malt and fruity but not the type of fruit I prefer in an ipa. Lacks body. Could be a quencher on a hot summer afternoon.

Pours a very large amount of foamy creamy white head and has a light amber appearance. Some dirty smudgy lacing. Somewhate excessive carbonation. Aromas of floral and citrus hops dominate. Flavours are also of the citrus hops variety. Has some nice bitterness to it. Hints of lemon, lime, some spices are well balanced within, not too offensive. Some grainy and toasty malt flavours also in the mix. Mouthfeel has a prickly warming sensation. Orange like taste in the finish. Pretty good stuff and quite affordable.

Finally got a 6-pack of this at my local Métro store. Pours a clean golden-amber colour with a huge foamy head that lasts a very long time and puts out soapy lacing. Cascade hops are present at first, but balanced with some caramel. With time, grainy malt appears. The mouthfeel is kind of creamy with the head, and not too bitter, not too dry for an IPA. Mild grapefruit taste with the caramel malt, hints of peach and other fruits. This is a decent, middle-of-the-road IPA, for those who prefer their hoppy IPA being balanced with lots of sweeter malts.

A North American twist on a classic British style is probably the best way to describe this beer. The pour is golden hued orange, cloudy, with a huge white cap on top. There is a definite citrus note in the aroma along with hints of pine, cereal, and spices. The flavour has more of a citrusy feel to it than the aroma, but it is nicely balanced by the bready malt and light spice treatment. Spot on the BJCP guidelines!

First of all that IPA respect the standard promoted by England long ago...A balance beer with a hoppy edge;not over the hop...like many american IPA which i like by the way...This Saint-Ambroise IPA will appeal to anyone who likes conservative recipes,good taste,very enjoyable...IPA for beginner maybe but in my book a really good one....

When I first opened the bottle the hop resin was quick to arrive at my nose, but as I drink it is nearly as quick to leave. Halfway through the glass now the hops no longer jump and more require some searching. Ugly clear yellow colour: looks like kokanee! East coast in style for sure. It is more what one would likely term pale ale, medium bodied balanced malt/hop drink and not much more complex than that. Could stand something in the tart/dry/biscuit/bitter end of things to make it a touch more interesting. My dad who likes "Canadian Draft" enjoys it, he says its more floral. In that comparison I can see that. There does seem to be a trace of skunk so I am not convinced that this bottle has been handled well.

This beer disappoints, poor example of an IPA. Never really seen a beer this color before pale pumpkin…..possibly dark peach, either way it crystal clear with a massive rocky cap. Aroma is meh at best, muted west coast hops, peach/pine nothing to aggressive. Just got a massive whiff of lemon hard candy on that inhale. Taste is bitter and earthy no real hop flavor just a bitterness that lingers. Light pine resin?? I can drink this but why bother there are hundreds of better IPA’s out there.
