Marston's Pedigree has always been crafted using the finest natural ingredients to ensure you receive a truly exceptional beer. We only use natural Burton spring water and traditional varieties of barley and hops (Maris Otter Barley, Fuggles and Goldings hops), rather than less expensive, commercially grown, modern hybrids. Unique in this world, it is still brewed in the oak casks of the Burton Union to preserve its unique character, consistent quality and taste. Many brewers have abandoned this traditional method of brewing over the years due to its extra cost and labour intensive maintenance, which requires a skilled cooper to constantly service the wooden casks. It has been the commitment and belief of each Marston's Head Brewer to preserve the extra effort that goes into each brew that makes Marston's Pedigree such an exceptional beer. When you want a truly exceptional premium ale, Don't compromise, choose Pedigree.

Rerate, 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Clear amber to brown colour, moderate head. Moderate aroma with notes of malts and bread, just some faint hints of caramel, sulphur and fruity hops. The flavour has some nutty malts, and the fruity hops are more pronounced. A hint of toffee too, and a moderate bitterness in the finish. It is quite obvious that this is not a "live" beer. Cask conditioned this is a mellow, easily drinkable bitter. Not the very best, but GOOD, to be sure. Available in most of Britain, partly because of Marston's contract with the nationwide pubchain J.D. Wetherspoon.

This worked to get the taste of Redds Strawberry Shizzle outta my mouth. Otherwise a pretty average bitter. Bready and caramel malts, some light bitter and floral hops. Ok...

My second order at World of Beer today. A dull copper in color. Small, one finger frothy textured, off white head that rises briefly above. Settles into a small ringlet Straightforward simple, caramel. Some grassiness. Light, watered body. Okay, inasmuch as I didn't finiah it.

Clear light copper with small white foam head, lacing. Aroma is light malty with some caramel tones. Taste is slight sour malt. Short somewhat sour bitter aftertaste. (Humberside 201212)

After spending quite a significant amount of time drinking in the UK, I never acutally came across this beer, never heard of it being the official beer of England (I fiigure that would be Fullers London Pride...???), and tasting here in Canada, it does not resemble anything you would taste in a CAMRA mag. Its got many of the rigt parts, they just don't fit properly, overly carbonated, wood-- but it is fake smelling and not complex, the whole this is too plain and lacks the dry biscuit one expects in a brit brew. Hmmmm, dissapointing I guess.

Light brown not much carbonation and not much head, nonetheless this offering is very drinkable and taste quite fruity apple by the way...Malt and hops are well balance and reminds me London and the many Pubs i visit for a good pint...

Reviewing from 2 day old memory and no adequate glass. Nice malty nose with a touch of pine and some sweet non-toasted malty notes. Bad glass (plastic cup, don't ask) so no appearance review. Medium to light mouth with good carbonation. Lots of good malt flavor something a bit odd in the hopping. Tastes a bit too much like a brown ale.

Other than being absolutely beautiful, it's sadly average... was hoping for much more. The sweetness of the malt was decent. Lacking in any type of head or lacing. Weak on flavor.

When I hear the word 'Pedigree' - I'm thinking dog food. Sadly, this beer does not rate much better. Compared to a lot of other Bitters, this beer was lacking in colour, aroma, and flavour.

The beer poured a translucent red colour (a lighter red) with almost no head. The aroma was weak, some malt, some hops, but not much else. The mouthfeel was light-bodied, almost watery, with medium carbonation. The taste was rather skunky with some malty hints, but not a very good beer.

So this is the official bee r of England is it………I’ve always wondered. Standard looking bronze body head had zero retention. Aroma is mild with sweet light skunk, some hops, and very light woody malts, this aroma is working for me. I’m really liking the beers massive malt flavor with a great underlying bitterness. Loads of wood start to come through when beer warms up. My love for the beer is quickly dying it’s becoming undrinkable for some reason but the flavor hasn’t really changed that much. Maybe some melon?, chocolate?, and vegetables?!?!? Are now starting show. Brew started of good but ended very poorly with me doing full on face convulsions on the final gulps. Just drink this ice cold don’t give it a chance to warm or you’ll be sorry.
