750 ml capped bottle, bought at the brewery. Poured in the original Maisel designed stemmed snifter an unfiltered and cloudy orange-brown coloured Weizenbock with a one finger beige and soapy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Poor lacing. The aroma is powerful wheat malts, caramel, juicy fruits, oranges, mandarins. The flavour is sweety malts, yeast, caramel, fruity and aromatic hops, citrus, pine and spicy withes notes of chilli, pepper and cloves. The mouthfeel is crispy, sparkling and a bit sticky. The texture is oily. This medium bodied Weizenbock has a sweety, light bitter and alcoholic finish. A surprising, well flavoured, Weizenbock from Bayreuth. Interesting but with a, for me, too pronounced alcoholic feeling.
