Cannonball: IPA 7.4% Cannonball is an India Pale Ale in the true tradition, high in alcohol and massively hopped to survive a long sea voyage. We don’ t want you to wait though, crack the cap and let the flavour explode on your palate. Tropically fruity, resinous hops compete against a sweet malty backbone, while a rasping bitterness builds to a mouth puckering crescendo. Our hop bomb might just blow you away…

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Hazy deep golden to orange colour, moderate white head. Lovely aroma of tropical fruits and spruce / pine. Distinctly hoppy flavour throughout, on a moderately sweet background. Citrussy and resinous notes, bitter finish. Good stuff.

Can. Colour - clouded golden-orange, huge frothy off-white head, plenty of lacing. Aroma - lots of grapefruit and papaya, hints of cereal malt, and light spices. Mouthfeel - medium bodied, decent carbonation. Flavour - papaya and mango fruitiness dominate the palate but there are also hints of cereals and pine. Great beer.

Pretty loaded when I got to this one on a train from London to Hasting, bought when leaving Charing Cross at the Craft beer bar there. A brit beer with American style hops! 7.4%! Tropical smells, some grapefruit, light malts, medium to light bodied, almost like a hoppier, more alcoholic Tree Hop Head. Fantastic!
