An average lager, even though I love German lagers. Would definitely drink it again, but won't seek it out. Musty taste was present with a sweet malt finish. Nice golden color.

Blue & Gold Lager. Very light, dough aroma with a very light taste. Doesn’t quite taste like a lager at all. Very clean and balanced.

I've become to expect good things from Magic Hat but this is the first Lager I've tried from them so I wasn't sure what I'd get. Golden color topped by a thin head. Only a little bit of lacing on the glass and the aroma is slightly skunked. There's not a whole lot that's enjoyable with the taste either. Musty, corn flavor with some bitter hops mixed in. Not really that smooth. Slightly sweet but not as sweet as most Magic Hat brews. This reminds me more of domestic crap than a good Magic Hat brew.

I was actually pretty excited to try this new beer from Magic Hat. It was the first lager I'd be sampling from this brewery, and I was interested to see how they'd handle it. The answer? Poorly. Pours a clear golden color, with almost no head. Aroma is grainy, with hints of spicy hops. Mouthfeel is prickly and not as smooth as I'd expected. Taste is slightly sweet, then grainy with a bit of a husky taste, then some subtle finishing hops. I've had worse, but then again, I've had much better. Nice try Magic Hat, but this just doesn't cut it.

Golden color with a small creamy white head that did leave a little lacing. Corn, some slunk, slight lemon and an adjunct ridden aroma. Kinda gross. Corn, light hops. Nothing special at all.

Pours with a pale golden body topped by a thin head with little lacing. Grainy, grassy hop aroma with slight malt accents. Grassy hop flavor with a touch of sweetness and slight grainy notes. A slight maltiness shows through. Light bodied, smooth and dry. Not a bad offering for Magic Hat's first attempt at a lager.

I bought a 12 of a Magic Hat sampler and this beer was included. A big change of pace for Magic Hat, i believe this is there only pilsener. Has a good flavor, no aftertaste, i hope to see it in its own packaging sometime soon.
