Pours a nice pearl black with no head what so ever. Aroma is very much roasted with strong hints of chocolate, coffee, and malts. Taste is heavy on the dark chocolate and settles off to a very bitter woody flavor. Finishes off bitter and dry. Has a medicinal hint to it because of the high ABV. This is one hell of a beer that should be sipped and enjoyed.

Enjoyed a glass from the cask at JL Beers Moorhead. Very dark brown/black pour with a creamy tan head. Dark fruits, molasses, wood and light spices come through in both aroma and taste. Lots of complexity (even more so in the cask version). Alcohol is hardly noticeable, making this very enjoyable but dangerously easy to overindulge.

Super clear black/red beer, almost ruby. Milder nose than advertised, but thick, licoricey, chocolate, oak. A bit thin in the mouth for something that is advertised as a big beer. Huge hop presence. A bit sour on the back end. Too unbalanced to be special, not really for me.

Drinking in Honor of our Navy SEALS killing bin laden, who was Certified Evil. This monster beer from Chef Chad. Cola brown pour, tight thin head with sporadic lacing. RICH aromas: ripe fruits- dates, raisins, plums - molasses and brown sugar, port wine, sweet and lightly toasted malts, earthy hops. Taste is much like the nose, with a wine-like fruitiness and depth, rich and flavorful. Strong enough to be a sipper. Big thanks to Chad for this tasty ale.

So....... If it is that good.. it is that good.. I don't even know where to begin...I will try.
Smells of plums, raisins, hops, yeast, malt, carmel and alcohol. Pours a very thick red dark brown that is gorgeous when held to the light. Medium body with fantastic carbonation and a crisp and dry finish. OKAY... flavor.. I don't know where to begin. malt... and lots of it... Hops but just a bit .... Cardamon(which is my favorite weird spice to add to an ale ). There is some great holiday flavors going one here. Spice. Honey and some dark fruit..... I really would doubt there is anything like this out there today.. Some raisins and plum notes.. Over all this is one amazing beer.. I was Shocked how good it was!!!!!
