This highly hopped California style pale ale showcases the brewer's art of balancing malt and hop characteristics. A generous addition of Munich malts balances the bittering from Chinook malts, and Cascade hops round out the flavor profile.

Another enjoyable pale ale from California. A pale gold beer with orange hues. The aroma is citrusy hops, sweet malt, and some light fruit. Flavour is well balanced with almost no aftertaste.

decent pale ale with a lighter hop profile that plays delicately with the malt balance. not worth buying in 22's, but give it a try at the pub. refreshing on a hot day.

Sampled in Eureka. Not their best brew but not bad. A little weak in flavor and needs some extra hops. Goes down very smooth and has a light pale appearance. Try others before this one.

The body is a medium cloudy orange. The head is slightly yellowish. Teh aroma is bready with oranges. There is also a present piney resin that is pleasant and certainly not overpowering. The taste is full of orange peel and some sweet bread. The taste also has some background of pine freshness. I like this combination. It is a well balanced APA.

After the abortion that was the so-called Thompson Pale Ale, I knew that this had to be at least a step in the right direction. All I wanted was a basic American Pale Ale -- is that too much to ask? Overall, I would have to say this wasn't bad. Not awe-inspiring, but not bad.
Reminded me of a few other beers that I've loosely labeled as being "soft". That is to say, rather fluffy and slightly over-carbonated, with no sharp hop aromas, and nothing sharp or distinctive in the either the mouthfeel or the flavor profile. Yes, this still fits the American Pale Ale style, but in no way could this hold a candle to the more mainstream APAs out there (e.g. Sierra Nevada Pale, Stone Pale, other NorCal Pales, etc).
A bit "limp" in the mouthfeel... and generally speaking, there was nothing here that made me want to sing this beer's praises to the beer gods. Rather, this is a simple and very basic Pale Ale, that could use a lot more "omph", IMO.
(An aside: I topped off my last half-pint of this beer with my homebrewed Session American Pale Ale -- and APA that doesn't have a huge amount of bitterness to it, but a lot of front-end hoppy aromas. The combo was 100x improved in every way. So maybe all this beer really needs is just a "shot in the arm" in the aroma dept, eh? Who knows...)

Gold/copper color. Small head. Aroma is fruity (apricots and peaches) and a touch spicy. A medium bodied Pale Ale. Malts are mild, nutty and a touch sweet. Hops are slightly spicy and grapefruity. A milder flavored pale ale, more in the English style than the over-the-top West Coast style. Very smooth taste. Itís a very drinkable pale ale. Light and refreshing. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
