We're beyond excited to see VT IPA ranked at #25 in Paste Magazine's recent review of 324 blind-tasted IPAs. Here's a small sample of their review: "...man, they got it right with this one—what one taster’s sheet refers to as a “tropical juice explosion” immediately washes over the palate with big notes of sweet pineapple, mango and orange, followed by a certain bready maltiness. Soft, low in terms of bitterness and generally uncomplicated, it’s simply a very good example of why so many people enjoy NE-IPA." Our brewers developed this recipe for more than a year; playing around with yeast strains and hop combinations in search of a smooth, juicy offering that pleases palates. With VT IPA they found the perfect balance of tropical fruit and citrus flavors through a heavy dry-hopping of Citra and Amarillo hops, which give distinct tangerine, mango, pineapple and grapefruit character. The juicy hop profile is complemented by the grist, which features a heavy hand of flaked oats and aromatic Munich malt to deliver a smooth mouthfeel and hazy appearance. What sets this beer apart --aside from the soft bitterness-- is the introduction of a new yeast strain that provides the beer with more neutral notes and juicy esters that enhance the hops. Enjoy it fresh, enjoy it often.

Hazy golden-orange colour with a big bubbly-soapy white cap, decent stay and some foamy lacing spots. Pink grapefruit aromas with the orange juice base and some tropical fruits coming out later. The taste starts on a tangerine note, with some good citrus zest that grows, creating some bitterness and dryness lingering. Not a bad juicy IPA with enough dryness int the end.

Surprisingly mild nose for a NEIPA, more floral than tropical...violets and tangerine. Medium amber body is moderately hazed with off white head admitting a small bit of lace/suds. Really nice mouth on this, chewy, creamy, full bodied. Taste is also mild, not as sweet as many NEIPA's, a bit soapy?, a little aspirin at the end, not complex, lemon rind not in a particularly good way. Not my cupa.
