Seizoen Bretta (say-soon'-brett'-ah) GOLD at the Great American Beer Festival, 2012 This unfiltered bottle of seizoen, with it's beeswax seal, is naturally refermented and carbonated with select yeast strains, producing fruity and spicy flavors that are balanced by hops and soft malt character. Special Brettanomyces yeast provides added dryness and crisp complexity to the Seizoen Bretta. Bottle conditioned with pear juice for a natural carbonation.

750 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.0%. Moderately gushing bottle, better have the glass ready! Golden colour, clear first, cloudy later. Large white head. Intense, complex and lovely farmhouse and rustic kitchen aroma, hints of mild spices and oaked apple cider. The flavour is medium dry and crisp, again with mild spicy and moderate oaky notes. Some fruitiness too. Moderate but noticeable hops. Refreshing and delightful.

Logsdon's Seizoen Bretta just won the gold in the American Brett Ale category at the GABF. Congrats to them. This beer pours a cloudy goldenish colour, Lots of carbonation. Immediate funkiness with some down-home earthy character. TAste is dry, sort of champagne like. Some serious barnyard shit going on. Must have been a more aggressive strain. Real nice.

Kind of on the bubble between farmhouse saison and wild ale. Pretty dang bretty, peach and apricot come into play in the aroma and flavor, as does a hint of spice and a good dose of tartness. A bit of grassy hops in the finish. A delicious refreshing beer from a brewer I'd never heard of before purchasing this 750.
