A classic Belgian favorite. Black currants have been used for centuries as an ingredient in beers and liqours in Belgium and Northern Europe. Taste: Deep reddish-purple color with exceptional aroma, flavor, and complexity. Fuller bodied and soft, while still being refreshing and crisp. Serving suggestions: Venison, roasted pork tenderloin with rosemary cream sauce, scones, New York style cheesecake, and fresh fruit.

An outstanding version of a fruit beer that is not beer. Great dark cherry coloration, with lively carbonation and a fruity nose plenty of sweetness to go around. A little goes a long way, so you won't feel bad about sharing you bottle with another.

March 2013: 250 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 3.5%. Dark red colour, moderate pink head. Intense aroma of blackcurrant juice. Intensely sweet and sour flavour, with loads of sweetened blackcurrant juice. A beer to be had with a fruit dessert, perhaps. You really have to be partial to blackcurrants to drink more than one bottle. I know some people like to mix this in a porter. I haven’t tried that, but it might work.

Clear purple ruby, pink red lacing lasting foam head. Sweet black current aroma, sweet and sour taste, black current dominated. Not too sweet, nice. (Velp 201511)

Tastes like wine and beer mixed together, smells like them too. Good sourness mixed with a flavor profile that is far more complex and interesting than the rest of the line up if not quite as tasty.

Bottle from the North Shore Kamloops BCLC. Fantastic of fantastic beer! Slightly sour, especially when first opened. Lots of purple colour, drank in a pint glass very "sacreligously"... some grape and some black berry and cassis. Very complicated but well organized in Aroma and in flavour. Much enjoyed, easy drinking, fruity, balanced but in no way felt "girly". Drank too fast for a good review..

On tap! @ Knoxville BrewFest. Medium translucent magenta color, big bubbled head, dissipating to a constant white cap, delicate lacing. Currant - grape and cherry berry aroma, sweet, slight zest, very slight floral and funk. Refreshingly fruity (especially after several IPAs), nice blend flavor of grapes and cherries - the currants - then more slight funk, yeast and floralness, but mostly light fruits and berries. Tasty and satisfying for certain.

Pours a nice dark cherry color with dark pink / purple head with lots of messy lacing. The aroma is like rasberrys with hints of grape and other darker fruits. The taste is a fruity and easy to drink. The mouthfeel sits light with a little lingering bitterness. The sweetness is balanced to perfection. This is not only my favorite style of beer, the Lindemans are my favorite brands. Never get tired of these beers.

I never have tried a black Currant, so i am not really sure what to expect, but this was kinda tasty, a dark grape soda looking body with a pink fizzy head. It is rather sweet, and a little bit goes a long way.

It pours a dark black cherry/purple with a pink head and copious lacing. An aroma of black cherries, orange and citrus, tart, raspberries, grapes, yogurt, and light spices. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Flavors of black cherries, orange and citrus, raspberries, grapes, apples, tart and light spiciness. It's not a beer ... but it is goooodddd!!!

Pours a dark mahogany with a cherry-red tone and a slightly reddish tan head, rather inviting. Aroma is rich and yeasty with a fruity overtone, a mixture of cherry and blueberry - must be currant. Lip-smacking flavor is slightly sweet, pleasantly sour, mainly cherry and blueberry - currant? - with undertones of malt and yeast. Texture is very smooth and leaves behind a light tingle.
