Barques are a class of sailing vessel having three or more masts, the aft most or mizzen mast being rigged fore-and-aft, with the others rigged square. These were the workhorses of the golden age of sail, and indeed James Cook commanded a converted coal-hauling barque, HM Endeavour, on the first of his three Pacific voyages. Lighthouse Barque is a classic Belgian Golden Strong ale, brewed with Pilsner malt, Belgian ale yeast, and the hops varieties Saaz, Styrian Golding and the South Pacific Wai-iti.

Bomber from Central City. Clear gold pour with a modest, fluffy white head. Spicy aroma, although in a restrained way. Decent flavour, lightly spiced. Peppery mouthfeel. Smooth finish.
