Clear dark red, red foam head, not staying long. Strong cherry aroma. Bit sparkling on tongue, sour cherry taste. HAve to get used to this, but nice. (Velp 201506)

Beautifully wrapped green bottle with the typical Liefmans paper. Label on bottle is quite nice and classy. Pours a deep red colour with an orange hue. The head is almost creamy, has a little pink to it, with good retention and some nice thick lacing. Candy aromas with the cherry and yeast combo. Some sourness as well, but in the taste, it is quite mild. Again, more on the sweetness and candy-side. You can start smelling the wood with time, from the oak. Does get better after breathing. A decent kriek, but a little too much sugar to be a great one.

Now this is what I would call copper color. The first whiff of it I smell vinegar. As it warms up it starts to smell a little of cherry. The mouth ell is tart and sour. The taste is interesting in that it's more like a wine cooler than like a beer. I can see women or young people likening this but it's not for me.

Pours a fair amount of foamy pinkish head and has a amber appearance with ruby highlights. Aromas of fruits, cherries and sweet malts. Flavours of cherries, dark fruits, light notes of malts, some hints of figs in the finish. Very tarty and somewhat sour taste on the palate. Good stuff, very fruity and flavourful. Full bodied mouthfeel.

The beer pours a translucent cherry red colour with a half inch tan coloured head which lingers on the top. Aroma is cherry, vinegar, funk, and must. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with above average carbonation. Flavour is cherry lollipop, and funky yeast. Sweeter in the flavour than the aroma indicates. -

Bottle share from Richard. Lightly hazed ruby amber pour, bubbly head, some lacing. Lightly funked yeasty cherries and berries nose and taste, bubbly mouthfeel, tart and flavorful.

Similar to (possibly a little sweeter and weaker than) the old kriek. Not sure of this is a more mass produced version, more added sugar or what. Ruby pour, nice balance of fruity cherry sweetness and a tart, musty aroma and flavor. Nice.

Cellared bottle. Ruddy copper at the top, browner below, tap cap. Aroma of tawny port, sour cherry flavor. A bit medicinal or herbal when too cold, but sweetens to great balance when it reaches optimal temps.

Had this in bottle at a bar in Ghent while hanging out with some friends. I found it to be a tad on the sweeter side than what I was having at the time. But it was still enjoyable. Poured a rose colour with a large white head. Aroma is sweet, very fruity. Well carbonated mouthfeel, enticing nose.

I picked this beer up from Honeygo Wine & Spirits in White Marsh, MD on Thanksgiving (2011). I had this beer with some dessert on Thanksgiving. It was cherry, cherry, a bit of cherry followed by a dash of ... cherry. The beer was tart, sour, and effervescent. I really liked this one.
