Pours a hazy copper-caramel colour with a mocha head, not lasting too long and with not much lacing. Wow, what aromas !! Licorice, bananas, loads of spices and full other fruits. Flavours of prunes, caramel, apples, mild herbal sourness with decent sugars hiding the alcohol content very well. What a great quadrupel, which I would compare to some of the great early Unibroue beers.

On tap at brewpub. Pours a very thin frothy coating. Has a dark amber appearance. Lacing is decent. Aromas of dark malts, raisins, plums, resin hops. Flavours are mostly raisins, plums, resin and earthy hops but very minimal. Full bodied mouthfeel. Great retention. Slick and drying sensation on the palate. For an 11%abv beer, it is quite deceiving and easily drinkable.
