Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7
Brewed November 12, 2015 and bottled January 10, 2017 after 12 months barrel-aged. Just had the Cabernet Sauvignon edition, so comparing both. This one has the same look with the hazy deep amber colour, beige head, good stay and some lace. Then, it changes. Dark fruit aromas with prune, but no sweet caramel rich malts. Not much sweetness in the flavours, but some light sourness, then bitterness with grassy hops in the finish. The prune and dates are present. Hints of nuttiness, yeast. Maybe a little cherries. An interesting blend for less sweetness and more hoppiness, bitterness.
