Brewed November 12, 2015 and bottled November 14, 2016. Pours a hazy deep amber colour with a big frothy beige warm head, good retention and thick creamy lace. Bubble gum aromas at first, but then the dark fruits come out (raisins, dates, plums) with sweet caramel and oak giving hints of vanilla. This is a little stronger in the taste with the dark fruits and caramel which are less sweet, well-blended with the mild hops. The Cab Sauvignon hints come in the finish and lightly lingers. Also, some anise notes are present. This is nicely balanced with the oak. Another good oak-aged product from BDT. I think I prefer this over the original brew.
