Sampled this as "Leinenkugel's Limited", what Northwoods Lager was before they called it Northwoods Lager, and it's back for a limited release. The packaging is slightly different than the original but the beer is still a good representation of a classic American lager.

This one poured a nice golden color with a frothy white head. Had a pleasent aroma with just a hint of hops and a sweetness from the malt. Mouthfeel was decent, but the flavor was solid. Drank in celebration to my one year anniversary as a BeerPal member!

Good to see this available again; it was always one of my favorites from Leinies. The body is a crystal-clear deep gold with a thin ocher head that doesn't last too long and leaves little lacing. The aroma is light hops and fresh grain with just a hint of a macro-brewer's cooked veggies. Medium-bodied, crisp and refreshing on the palate. A good balance between malt and hops, and a nice dry finish with a little tang.

Sampled from bottle on a few occasions: Pours a very bright golden colour. Head is small but retentious.Hops are evident in the aroma, as well as grain. Flavor is light, refreshing- clear and crisp taste all the way through. Decent.

this one i tried a couple of years ago, i would not say i liked it that much but i remember the color seemed good. Just the taste was lacking . I think miller just takes the first thing they produce.

Golden color, small white head. Aroma is slightly sweet. Lightly hopped, some maltyness, bitterness is sharp. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter

I like Leinenkugel's beers. This one has a dark yellow somewhat orange appearence, nice head but has a different taste than most lagers. It takes some getting use to but it is a pretty good beer. Definately more bite than a regular lager (Bud, Miller, Coors) and more complex than any of the run of the mill American made massed produced Lagers (see Bud, Miller, Coors, Strohs, Busch, you get the picture). A nice beer to try if you want something different.

This would be one of those beers you'd try to get your timid friends to try, the ones who won't put down the swill and switch to the good stuff. Has a bit more hops bite, a deeper color and flavor than the megaswills. Much more to say about it than that? I'm thinking, I'm thinking.
