This pours dark black. Big foamy light head that is a tan color. Pretty good amount of lacing present. Aroma is pretty weak, just a roasted scent. The mouthfeel is thin. The flavor is just weak flavored with a slight bitterness to the aftertaste. Its after taste is very dry.

Pours a warm, dark, semi-transparent brown with a nice thick light tan head that hangs around for a bit and leaves just a little lacing. Aroma has licorice, unsweet chocolate and miso notes plus a hint of molasses. Flavor seems a bit on the thin side, smoky with woody, unsweet chocolate and licorice notes, not great but still pleasing. Maybe this was from not the best batch, or it’s better on-tap. Texture has average body and above-average fizz. Overall, decent if not great, and worth a try.

A dark brown color with a small white head. A faint chocolate and nutmeg aroma up in da nose. Flavor contains some chocolate, some redi whip, and caramel. This like amber bock except slightly sweeter. Overall it will do but not great.

Probably the strongest offering from Leiny's. It looks good, smells decent, and tastes good. It's a good version of a classic German style and probably as good as most German versions I have tried.

Pour is dark brown with a quickly dissipating off-white head. Not much in the aroma department--some roastiness is about all I detect. A little thin but with a slightly creamy texture. Flavors of roasted malts (a touch burnt), nuts and a bit of sweetness. Not great but good for a bargain beer and a good gateway beer for BMC drinkers.

Not a fan of this company, but this is a decent beer. Flavors of roasted coffee, with a hint of nuts, and fruit. Creamy and smooth, not as heavy as you would think by looking. Overall its the best beer by Leinenkugel that I have tried. --Review #1000!!

Very dark brown/amber mixed with a deep ruby color. Clear. Had only the slightest off white head that had decent retention and ok lacing. The head settled to a respectable film. Some caramel malt in the nose. Some roasted malt. Picked up a miniscule amount of coffee bean. Molasses even. Biscuit aromas pick up as the beer warms. Roasted or toasty malt at first with the taste. The caramel is not as present. Getting more of a raisin flavor and also some grain. Even a slight bit of coffee. Medium mouthfeel and mostly dry. Coats the throat and tongue modestly. Smooth and creamy. This beer isn't bad. Decent little change. The brew looked and smelled good enough. Might be more of an enty level dark beer for people looking to expand their horizons. I could drink a few of these for sure.

Pours a dark tea brown with a thin creamy head and nice lacing. Good carbonation. Aromas of slightly toasted malts, slight amount of chocolate and hops. Taste is smooth with a decent malty base, toasted malts and a little bittersweet chocolate, a hint of coffee, and a slight sourness.

a surprisingly good, roasty, brew...from a fairly unimpressive brewery. i'd recomend this one to anyone looking for a good, dark beer on the lighter side.

The aroma is was clean with hint of roasted hops and chocolate. The appearance is a dark amber color that has some red with a white, lacy head that lasts. The mouthfeel is well-balanced and complex. The flavor is of roasted hops and chocolate with a smooth aftertaste that stalls for a moment as you swallow it and turns to some sourness. This is a premium dunkel that is worth a try and is remarkablely light but not too much and is very smooth and sweet. Decent Leiny product for the most part.
