There's been a couple times when barreling a "small" beer has worked really well. Kentucky Bourbon Ale and Crispin Stagger Lee Cider come to mind. This one improved a little on the base, but both the lightness of the beer, and the lightness of the barreling, prevent it from being really good. It was nice, as a change of pace, to get a 5 or 6% beer with obvious but light sweet barrel influences. Served on nitro.
