The original name of this original ale was originally derived from an origin so heinous that we cannot reveal its aboriginal oregeny. sorry. Actually, it's an easy drinking malty Copper Ale that goes easy on the hops. Whatever. Anyway, we were going out to, uh,the ,uh, you know, thing, and all, and when we got there, well, uh, the dude was, like- "whoa man!" I mean, and we were all, uh, you know - "whoa!" and stuff, and when I said to him, like, you know, "hey man", and all they, I mean he, was all "what?" and stuff- and I just told him what you said and all and they were all man- "not cool dude", but whatever- so, uh, we split and went back to my lair and just hung out and whatever, but the whole thing was, like, just SUCH a bummer and all but, you know, it was cool and stuff, but you just gotta, you know, about the dude and all, like, it's cool and all you know, but what's up with that "blah blah blah"? Whatzit got to do with beer and all? I mean, really, dude, whatever...but, it's cool and all... Say "LAH-GOO-KNEE-TUSS"

Still trying to figure out what the censored is all about. To me, this seems like a very nice brown ale. Has the typical bitter edge that one would expect from a West Coast beer. Frankly, these guys are becoming one of my favorite breweries, if not THE favorite at this point. Haven't had any bad quality beer from them yet. Definately up with Sierra Nevada in consistancy.

12oz bottle from JB’s
Appearance: Pours clear golden with a mediums sized off-white head and some lacing
Aroma: Dusty caramel, grapefruit, bready and sweet
Taste: Dusty caramel, doughy and citrus
Solid but nothing special about it to make me come back for more. -

Clear light copper color with thin bright white head. Nice caramel matly aroma with a hint of breadiness. Flavor is full rich caramel malts with some light bitterness biting around my tongue. Tasty caramel malt brew.

Has a chocolaty aroma when you twist off the cap on this stubby 12 oz bottle. Color is that of darker iced tea. Taste is a little on the strong side. Yes it has those copper ale hints but the alky bitter bite just overwehlms this brew. The alky listed here is 5.9% but oin the bottle it is 7.7%. Seems more like the 7.7% in the flavors. most of the ASAs I’ve had have not been to enjoyable. This one is right there with the rest. Decently creamy carbonation. The flavors of this brew are a little too much for my girlie taste buds. Finish is lingering medium mild bitterness that hangs for quite a while on the back of the palate. As good as Legacy Hedonism, Flying Dog Imperial Porter and Great Lakes Nosferatu.

Pours a dark copper colour with very little head ,no retention and little lacing.Might have had this one too long.Sweet roasted malts and caramel in the aroma.Flavour is much the same with some dark fruits.Smooth with not much carbonation.

Copper color with little head. Aroma is malty with some biscuit, caramel, and toffee. Flavor contains some citrus I didn’t get in the nose but a ton of nutty flavors and caramel. Somewhat bitter finish. Overall this is pretty good but just kind of a standard amber ale.

355 ml bottle, as Lagunitas The Censored Rich Copper Ale, from Ølkonsortiet, Aalborg. ABV not mentioned on the label. Amber to copper colour, moderate off-white head. Fairly nice aroma of caramel and fruity hops, hints of old orange marmalade. The medium sweet flavour has also notes of caramel and a little fruit, but lacks hops and "freshness". Drinkable, but I expected more from Lagunitas.

A deep reddish copper colored beer. A small foamy textured off white head rises above. And disappears nearly as quickly. Dark fruit sweetness comes through in the nose. There is a hint of floral hops there. A smooth, velvety body. Moderate to full. The flavors are a well crafted dance of dark fruit, sweet caramel malt and a touch of floral hops. I really like this one!

Deep clear amber-copper pour with a tight white head and some lazy lacing. Aromas consist of sweet lightly roasted malts, biscuit, caramel, and a bit of earthy pine and citrus hops. Taste is rich with a nice balance of sweet goodness from the malts with some caramel and bread followed by the slight hops bitter; the 7.7% abv is well-hidden.

Definitely a copper color. Appears clear and light. I drank the first one last night, and it didn't feel or taste like it was 7.7%. Now that I am trying it for the 2nd time looking it up here, I can notice a bit of a kick. A little hoppy but not as much as I expected.....more on the sweet side. Tastes of malts, pine, honey, caramel, and hops. This reminded me of a less hoppy version of their 2009 Correction Ale, which I tried a couple weeks ago. I liked that a lot better, but that was a hoppy American Pale Ale....slightly different style. This is growing on me with this 2nd try. For $8.99 a six, given the ABV%, it's a pretty good deal. Updated 6/7: Ok, this is my 3rd try and I'm liking it better each time. I am in the comfort of my own home instead of visiting the family 100 miles away, so am able to enjoy this more...in my own element, etc. The flavors are a bit enhanced now, which I am noticing a bit more hops than before. It's nowhere near a hop bomb, still sweet to me, just that it could be hoppier than my initial review. I'd say pretty close to an American Pale Ale. Not the greatest aroma, and mouthfeel pretty close to a 9 but not quite....otherwise I'd give this a slightly higher rating. Who knows, I may be changing it in the future. For $9 or under, I'd buy this again.
