This was my first Trappist ale, surely most of the others must be better?? Well, it's not a bad sipping beer, but I expected so much more. Lovely aroma when you open the bottle, diminishes considerably in the glass. I started drinking it too cold, but it didn't improve much as it warmed up. Sweetish aftertaste. Maybe I would have liked it more with a solid meal? Definitely not worth the price.

Opaque golden yellow with decent white foam head. Aroma is malty with some grassy tones. Taste is nice, alcohol and yeast are present. Ineresting explosion of flavors during aftertaste. Nice beer. (Velp 201306)

330 ml bottle. Poured in the original La Trappe goblet a hazy orange-copper colored ale with a small one finger slight beige foamy head that had a short retention. Active carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is moderate sweet grainy malts, fruits, bananas. The flavour is sweet malts, fruity, apricots, bananas, some bitterness. The mouthfeel is crispy, to note, the appearance of a slight sourness by warming. This medium bodied ale has a slight dry bitter finish. I attended more from an Authentic TRAPPIST Product!

Poured into a large wine glass. Very bubbly, with rocky head. Pale amber / honey, with some yeast haze when finishing bottle. Fruity esters, maybe pear, pineapple, kiwi fruit. Cara/crystal malts, floral hop. Sweetish, perfumy esters, tropical fruit, touch of honeycomb, Very complex, with subtleties everywhere. Finishes semi-sweet, light bittereness, herbal aftertaste, light zing. Lightly sweet, sour, & bitter. Medium body, finishes richly. Great beer, with a reasonably high ABV for a Blonde/BPA.

Pours a light yellow with a huge white head. Mellow aroma of fruit and bread. Flavor is sweet and light, but quite a terrific beer for the price. Wish I could get it a little easier.

Very nice golden color. Much foam, but don't worry, it will dissapear quite fast. Tastes, like the Belgian beer, if you know, what I mean:) No really, it's the milder version of... well, for example Duvel... Really good beer. It's not as strong as usual abbey beer. but has the same taste and aroma buquet, so i suggest You try it.

Draught. Dark golden/pale amber colour, minor white head. Strong banana and malts in aroma, also other fruits noteable (orange and passionfruit). Flavour is strong caramel and banana with hints of malts and some flowery hops becoming present in finish.

Nice golden honey orange color with a bright white thick head. Aroma of sweet vanilla and yeast, smooth mouthfeel with a dry finish. The flavor is a strong vanilla, light malt and yeast taste with a warm finish. Good beer.

Very nice creamy head to this beer. I can taste both vanilla and banana with caramel that add to a Belgian yeast flavor. I have got to have another right now! I only wish it came in larger bottles. I am convinced this is a great brew.

Aroma is sweet malts, bannana and cream. Pours an amber orange color with a thin milky, white head, with lots of little bubbles going crazy. The beer is full bodied, wonderfully carbonated, and bubbly on the tounge. Tastes is honey, sweet malts, bannana, cream, and a little bit of grapes, spice and caramel. Overall a fanatastic beer. I am really glad I picked up this Konings hoeven sample pack...great brew!

Bottle: Poured a deep golden/orangey color ale with a huge foamy head with excellent retention. Aroma of floral malt with candy-like sweetness, which is very enjoyable and reminiscent of the other beer from this brewery. Taste is also dominated by the candy-like sweetness and big malt. This beer does the same thing that Christophel did for me for Pilsner if you see what I mean.
