This one poured a crazy amount of head, cocoa colour, very creamy. Dark brown, almost blackish appearance. Good lacing. Aromas are of coffee, chocolate mocha, strong roasted malts. Mouthfeel is pretty watery, expected more thickness. Has strong flavours of chocolates and roasted coffee, dark malts, creaminess on the palate. Hops non-existant. Not bad.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a big foamy dark brown head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of dry roasted malt and coffee is interesting. Taste of coffee and really dry roasted malt is OK but doesn’t mix very well with the yeast. It seems to be a consistent trend in the Barberie beer I had lately were yeast just completely take over and doesn’t mesh very well with the rest of the taste profile. Body is a bit thin for the style ad alcohol is well hidden. This beer is not bad overall but not close to standard of the style.

Poured an awesome brown (rustic) coloured head, in an abundant amount too. Hold up a second, this isn't much of an imperial stout. If I didn't know any better this is simply an oatmeal at 7.5... very creamy mouthfeel, extremely creamy which I'm not so sure works with this style. Flavour is far too strong coffee taste - and only that! They really overdid it with the coffee/roast, saturated in that flavour, it becomes overpowering and lingers unpleasently on the tongue for quite some time. Adds a harsh roughness to this beer. Now the aroma softens this flavour, so it is rather pleasent. This is in need of a lot of polishing...

Poured an opaque black color with a medium sized, dark tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, dark fruits, and light alcohol. Taste of roast, nuts, chocolate, faint sour cherries and no alcohol presence. Creamy mouthfeel on this one.

Dark black color. Medium foamy head. Aroma is chocolate and slightly sour. A medium bodied Imperial Stout. Malts are chocolate and coffee. Somewhat lactic, very tannic and slightly sour. Interesting beer, but a little too lactic for an Imperial Stout. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter

Bottled: wow! pours black viscous syrupy wicked chocolate colored head. Absolute light shedding black...great lace soft carbonation. Nose is sweet cocoa, coffee and some lemon grass. Big chewy viscous mouth feel BUT...This imp is a tad too sweet and contains tastes that really are bad which mingle with an otherwise good Imp-stout taste profile...like blood on wet metal..horrible taste from God knows what....salty finish...I’m as disappointed with this one as I was with the Bells imp stout...poorly constructed...over kill on hop boil and charred malt have injected some unpalatable flavor tones in this beer’s profile. This was a trojan horse stout...looks wonderful, smells nice ....Thick chewy mouth feel to die for...then a taste profile let down...salt, metal and blood tastes do not belong in stouts I drink.

Bottle. Black as night with lasting tan head. Aroma has a sweet fruittiness which I can’t really put my finger on, peaches or apricots? Taste is a nice chocolate - roasted coffee thing with some cream. Nice and bitter, well made.

This imperial stout pours with a black body topped by a thick, brown head with lots of lacing. The aroma is strong with alcohol and soy sauce. This is nasty, I also smell vics vapor rub. The flavor is sour with soy sauce notes, some malt and a touch of roastiness. Full bodied, tingly yet smooth and slightly dry.
