Deep brown pour with a thin tan head. Very little lace on the glass. Not much of an aroma to speak of. Flavor was slightly sweet and malty. Overall pretty tame compared to other porters.

This was a nice surprise for a porter I have not heard of before today. Nice coffee taste made with 100% Hawaiian Kona Coffee. Reminds me of my visit to the Big Island! Very pretty dark color and nice foam tones. Coffee is the top flavor here. Fun label! It is made with some hops too, but I don't taste it. My kind of dark beer!

Pours a dark brown with an off white, one finger head that dissapate fairly quickly. Semi transparent body. Aroma is somewhat bready with hints of chocolate, light coffee, and sweetness. Taste is fairly watered down with hints of malts, light coffee and metal. Finishes off fizzy and dry to the tongue with a slight metallic hit at first but disappears adter a minute of drinking. Drinkable.

pours a dark chestnut brew, slightly tan round the edges when held to the light and a small off-white head, decent retention. The aroma is all coffee with a bit of nuttiness and roasted malt. The taste is coffee brew, though the coffee flavor leans on the syrupy side. A touch of citrus hops to the finish. Tastes like a coffee porter. The mouthfeel is thin and without that nice silkyness the best of the genre possess. Note Porters and Stouts are my least favorite style.

A gift from a friend who was at a wedding in Hawai'i. The beer pours a very dark brown colour with a creamy dark brown head. The aroma is coffee, roasted malt, and licorice. The mouthfeel is full to medium bodied. The flavour is bitter coffee, yet very smooth. Outstanding! -

Thanks to Brandon bringing this back from the States. Not much for me to say here really. It was better than I guessed it would be. There is coffee here, seems like a dark roast that was to coarsely ground, so none of the bitter or acids or complexity came through. Quite carbonated. Mouth is thin but the falvours do well, not seeming watery at any point. There is a touch of hop, which comes out in a slightly woody bitter note, something like cheap bulk melting chocolate. In the end though, the thin mouth just doesnt sell me. Mediocre.

Impressive... poured black with no head and what appeared to be aggressive carbonation. No carbonation in the nose or on the pallette - welcomed. Smooth, rich and velvet with rich coffee flavor and aroma - very nice. I actually replaced my second cup of coffee with this while I was casually ringing in the day... a very nice way to start a weekend day.

I am from Hawaii yet find myself very reluctant to try local brews. I find that they are really created by brew masters not from Hawaii, so to me that takes the "local" out of it. True, they have the knowledge. Any how, this brew was quite ok. The scent was very roasted but in the mouth it felt as if it was a "light" porter., The coffee flavor was present but not a focus of this brew. It did finish quite nicely to a sweet nice roll of the tongue. I do think that as more of Kona brewing specialty brews get out more good brews will be discovered. Aloha!

Nice brew. Stands alone, really. Rich, smooth coffee. Roasted fig (if there can be such a thing) Almost an espresso aroma. Perfectly balanced with sweet dark rasin and a light hit of vanilla. Chocolate is mellow and deep. Malted barley and light hops bring this brew full circle. A must try for mocha porter fans and an excellent breakfast brew!!! Slainte!!! Rag

What a great find, nice jolt of coffee flavor, in this porter style beverage. Pours a nice dark root beer color, pronounced coffee is the main flavor, with some hints of toasted malt. -- price is pretty nice too.
