Bottle from trade with Douberd. Decent white foam head on crystal clear yellow beer. Typical German style beer, OK but nothing existing either. Good with Chinese meal. (Velp 201411)

A golden colored beer with lots of carbonation. Small foamy textured white head rises briefly above. A thin ringlet is left behind. The nose is light. The profile overall is a dry malt with grassy-earthiness notes. Let this one warm and a fuller bodied creaminess comes out.

500 ml bottle bought at the brewery. Poured in the original SION stange a golden orange colored Kölsch with a one finger white foamy head that had a short retention. Soft carbonation. No lacing. The aroma is sweet malts, notes of hay. The flavour is sweet malts, faint gassy hops, some fruityness, citrus. The mouthfeel is crispy. This light bodied Kölsch has a dry bitter finish. Decent but not very exiting.

Golden colour, not much head. Aroma is papery, hayish and malty. Flavour is sweetish malts along with some hoppy dry bitterness. slight papery thing. Slight fudgeish hints in the aftertaste.

First rating in Krefeld, Nord Banhof restaurant. Nice kolsch style beer. Poured a golden yellow color with a nice head and decent lacing. The aroma was of light sweet malts. Lolts of sweetness to go hand-in-hand with a light hop showing. Very nicely balanced, very enjoyable. Good stuff, very drinkable. Re-rate, July '06: Highly carbonated, pale golden color, nice initial head with weak retention. Aroma had a lightly fruity ester touch to it. Flavor followed suit, the malts dominating here and with light off metallic type aftertaste in the first few sips of this second tasting at the Hard Rock Cafe in Cologne.

My first experience with a "kolsch", so I don't have a reference for comparison. Bottle. Watery, pale yellow. Minimal white head, quickley gone. Aroma is hoppy with a bit of citrusy fruit. Crisp and dry. Moderately carbonated. Taste is hoppy with some flowery sweetness. Bitter finish and aftertaste. Pretty good.
