The story behind the bicycle. Radler first became popular in 1922 in the town of Deisenhofen, Germany. The beverage was an instant favourite with the local cyclists travelling from Munich. 40 years prior, Ottawa's first bicycles were imported in 1882 from England at a price of $300 each by George A. Mothersill, founder of the Ottawa Bicycle club, the oldest and one of the largest bicycle clubs in Canada.

Picked up at the brewery. Pours a huge foamy white head but doesn't stay around very long. Weak lacing. Has a bit of a hazy yellowish appearance. Aromas are quite citrusy, some grapefruit notes for sure. Flavours are also citrusy, hints of hops are apparent. Mostly though, seems like pink grapefruit juice, with a little bit sweetness and bitterness to keep things interesting. A little bit of sourness comes through as well. Still quite enjoyable on a hot summer day.

Pours a hazy light golden-amber colour with a fizzy white head that disappears quickly leaving nothing. Beautiful fresh grapefruit juice smell, a little on the sweet-side, but some mild beer grain comes balance things. The beer is really felt more in the taste. The juice is actually quite mild at first and then, bang... loads of the grainy brew in the finish. Not too sweet and definitely not syrupy, so pretty refreshing overall. The radler with the bigger beer taste so far.
