Since he joined Kichesippi, our Brewmaster Don "Dr. Malt" Harms has been telling us that he makes a great Weissbier, so we said "go for it". In 1989, Don began his apprenticeship as a brewer in Germany, where he specialized in brewing Weissbier. Our unfiltered Hefeweizen is just what is should be. Refreshing with notes of clove and banana.

Cloudy golden-orange colour with a frothy warm cap, decent retention and some light foamy lacing. Malty nose with some light fruitiness. Maybe oranges, but not bananas. Light banana notes in the taste with even milder cloves. Some decent light bitterness in the finish. Yeast lingers. Not enough bubble gum and bananas and too malty (not wheaty enough) to be a good Hefe. Still decent though, but not my thing for the style.
