Reportedly the widest and heaviest double-decked lift bridge in the world, the Portage Lake Lift Bridge connects the cities of Houghton and Hancock here in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula. So get a lift from this American Brown Ale; a rich, dark brown color, complex malt flavor with hints of chocolate and caramel and a mild hop finish.

Sort of one of those average, ordinary, not bad, pretty good, well done, but nothing above or beyond spectacular beers. Which, I do not mind at all, thats sort of how I like em. Nothing too fancy, but not at all shitty. I would rate it about a C+ or maybe even a B-. I like it for sure. Coming in a can is a certain plus. In my opinion though, its a little over-priced. $7.50 or less and I'd say "sold".

Poured a dark brown colour with a medium sized tan head. Aroma is nutty, toffee and almonds on the nose. Mouthfeel is a little lighter then i expected, moderately carbonated, semi sweet flavors of caramel, toast and wood. Really nice beer overall.
