Small can picked up at Fresh Market in Costa Rica. Pours clear deep mahogany with the small beige head, light lacing. Lots of dark cherries, sweet malts, chocolate, mild tart. Good, but glad this is a small can.

This Rouge is courtesy of Degarth. Pours deep deep red with white head mixed with pink hues. The aroma is big and borders on just huge with a cloud of sweet cherries that are syrupy and rich and mildly cough syrup like. You can actually smell the cherry fruity flesh. The taste is full of cherry sweetness, mild cherry tartness and then more cherry fruit. Very yummy with just pure fruity satisfaction and no sense of the ABV.

On tap at the Trivia Pub. Poured into a really cool looking Kasteel glassware. The surprise of the summer. Big dark red ruby color. Barely any head but there is a girdle on the inside edge of the glass. This beer looks simply pretty! Fruity tart aroma, very attractive. Taste is fantastic, tart sweet and fun. For 9%, it certainly is not overwhelming in the alky flavors department. Tho there is some alky bite but hey, how can you completely hide 9%? Nearly flat. Nice legs and lacing. Has the feel of many well made champagnes or wines I’ve tasted. Mild well controlled malt alky bite during the finish. Perhpas a little more alky than I like in this type of brew but it does not distract from the enjoyability factor. Over all simply DEE LISH. I enjoyed this so much better than the blonde. Reminds me a bit of Manescevitz cherry. Definitely the best tasting fruit beer I’ve tasted, and I have tasted a few.

33CL bottle at home, done from memory, great aroma of cherry’s almost artificial, reddish beer, taste was decent in cherries, not bad.

Bottle at Toms Ultimate Glasgow Tasting: Poured a red color with a light red head. The aroma is cherry with a hint of dirt. Taste is very cherry and syrup sweet. Its an above average fruit beer.

Pours an opaque, strongly reddish mahogany with a fine-bubbled pinkish head. Scent of cherries dominates the the malty aroma. Flavor is almost too sweet, mainly cherry with an undertone of malt. Mouthfeel is smooth and pleasing, and aftertaste is mainly sweet but not cloying with hints of hops.

Bottle, at the Manneke Pis, Tenerife, as Kasteel Rouge. Served with correct glass. ABV 8%. Dark red colour, nearly black in the glass. Low and short-lived pink head. Strong aroma of preserved cherries. Lovely flavour of preserved cherries and malts.
