a pretty big flavored, citrusy floral version of an american ipa. good stuff...totally hit the spot at Disneyland and is one of Karl Struses best beers. Too bad it's not available here.

I sampled this at the San Diego airport while waiting for a flight. Poured a dark amber with good lacing. The nose was hoppy with a clean hoppy taste with a touch of malt. The mouthfeel was average with little to no aftertaste.

Had this one at Disney's California Adventureland, in a crappy yellow, transparent plastic tumbler. Nice to be able to have a beer in a Disney park (one at a time per customer, EVERYONE gets carded). Smallish white head, no clue as to the real colour, aroma was standard IPA. Taste and mouthfeel were okay.

Good hop nose and fragrant maltiness. Excellent clarity and head retention. Ever so slight off-smell--odor of soap. Good malt/hop balance; noticable tannin and slightly citrusy palate. Not my favorite IPA....

Had a bottle of this yesterday (April Fools Day) -- and yeah, I did kinda feel like someone was playing a joke on me! I mean, this used to be one of my standard go-to beers whenever I happened to find myself at the Karl Strauss Downtown location. A pleasantly interesting, highly sessionable American IPA.

But that's what I remember of this on-tap. Bottled? Entirely too dumbed-down, IMO. Almost comes across as a rather lame version of an Amber Ale than anything even approaching Pale Ale/IPA territory. How about adding some hops into the batch? Please??

An unintentional April Fool's joke with what used to be a pretty decent beer. Perhaps an off bottle -- or perhaps the Karl Strauss "magic touch" has dumbed-down yet another of their beers? Most likely the latter...

Music: Tygers Of Pan Tang's "Wildcat".

Medium orange gold color. Small to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is floral and piney hops, touch of sweetness. A medium bodied India Pale Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are citrusy and floral. A medium bitter IPA. Perhaps a little thin tasting. Nice balance. A little bit above your standard run of the mill brewpub IPA. The aroma is the best part of the brew. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Pours with an amber body topped by a medium thcik, white head with some lacing. The aroma is slighlty sweet and malty with little hop character. The flavor is slightly sweet yet slightly bitter with grassy hop notes and a little malt. Meidum bodied, smooth and a touch dry.
