Now that we are 21, our palate has matured like a fine wine. So we created something unique with old vine Zinfandel grape juice added during fermentation to give this brew a subtle vinous quality. Belgian yeast imparts hints of dried fruit in the nose, while a big dose of Vienna and Caramel malts yields a dry warming finish. Aged a month on American oak to take the edge off, this is one to share with friends.

A BSA with quite a bit of age in it, unless they've done a rerelease. A bit of a sweet mess, though not entirely unemployable. Wine like qualities and a hint of regular old grape juice mingle with Belgian spices, bubble gum and alcohol. A Bit muddled.

Sampled on 4/20/2010. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a medium orange amber color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with nice lacing and good retention. The aroma is caramel, fruity and sweet with a touch on red wine grapes. A medium bodied Belgian Strong Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet with some touches of brown sugar. There is a nice hint of zinfandel grapes here as well. Very smooth tasting, nice balance. The mix of the Belgian ale and the zinfandel grapes are interesting, they work very well together in this beer. Hides the 10.2% alcohol very well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
