A wretched draught honey brown that Labatt hoisted on unsuspecting Canadian beer drinkers in 2004. A clear honey-brown beer with very little aroma or flavour. Par for the course for Labatt...a honey beer should have honey!

No head, lacing, or aroma. Not much colour even! Really nothing substancial to review. Likewise, luckilly, nothing too offensive to review. It seems to narrowly avoid the swill/low quality (consistent with Labatts) for the most part. Not entirely though. Some sweet note that finds its way through, I assume that's meant to be the 'honey'. Served ice cold it adds a little drop of flavour. Not awful, nowhere close to the worst, but still bad.

'Bout what I expected for a Labatt product. No discernable aroma w/ a great brown colour that gives way to red in certain light. Average and watery. There isn't anymore to say.

This brew is part of their John Labatt series (which is suppose to be slightly higher in quality) just like their Classic. This one only comes in a keg, and was sampled at McLaren's pool bar on Elgin street in Ottawa, Ontario. It poured an amber clean colour with a short lived head, and some lace. The aroma was not too pleasant, like a bad water stench. It also smelt alcohol. The taste was not so bad thought. It had a good balance between sweet and bitter with slight fruit in it. The finish was of corn. The mouthfeel was almost flat, not much carbonation. It seems Labatt was going for a swill market and to make them feel more beer intelligent. An o.k. product for Labatt, but still prefer their porter.
