Used to buy this many years ago when it was called: "John Labatt Special". Hooked one from a friend’s case at Xmas just got round to reviewing it. This shows as a golden lager with a 2 finger rocky cap in my lager glass. We have a Labatt beer that actually laces the glass!! Real all malt beer ! Aroma is mainline: grainy, some caramel some light willamette hops. Meduim bodied, fluid mouth feel. Fair malt spine. Flavor is malty with light blance from the hops some unripened fruit tones ( apple/pear) clean wet finish with a bready aftertaste...right down the middle an inoffensive medium bodied all malt golden lager...see Labatt we knew you could do it!....seems only logical once this coprporate brewer hit a quality apex like this they would discontinue production of their only all malt beer to make the 300 brands of their adjunct slop seem to be the quality plateau.

Very tasty and very smooth to drink. The flavor and mouth feel are very enjoyable. The beer pours a rich golden color with a nice foamy head on the top.....excellent ice cold on a hot day!

Labatts classic is notable for the palate. If Labatts claims that this beer is Krausen Brewed (small batches) then it must be true. The first sip is indeed overwhelming. One can truly enjoy the craftmenship put into this beer. There is no commercialism in the quality, unlike other Labatts products, the likes of its "Blue" beer. Labatt Classic, when served at the right temperature, 7°C, and poured in a clean glass, with just a touch of a foamy head, is truly very enjoyable, refreshing and smooth tasting, what any beer realy should be about! Not quite what a Belgium, German or Dutch premium beer can bring, however,I think that Labatts Classic, is a Canadian Classic, and should do Canada Proud!

By far the best Labatt's has to offer and was a favorite of mine many years ago, and still is to this day.
