On draft at the Lancaster location. Pour was amber colored, pretty clear body, thin white to peachy-off white colored head, some lacing, but a tad under par for the style. The aroma was wheaty malts with some candi sugar type fruitiness. The flavor was yeasty and bready sweet candi sugar malts, lighter fruits, slight alcohol heat. The mouthfeel was lighter than expected, seemed to have a bitter bite beyond the yeast, some gentle hopping, the wheat malts, almost a rye-like character?

I was disapointed in what I thought might be the best of the sampler I recently tried at the Iron Hill Brewpub. It was one of the last I tried, and only 4 oz, so I will have to try it again, but compared to all other grand crus I've had, this one didn't compare. The flavor did have some fruit in it, such as apple and plum, but there was an intrusive alcohol and winey touch that did not go at all. It just seemed dead, and that is why I think I'll need to try it again. The color was a dark, redish brown and there was not much head or lace (though, it was a 4oz glass). Also, this beer isn't even listed on their website with the other many seasonal beers so I have a feeling it is their first stab at the style.
