Strong, malty aroma has a firm smoky overtone and a hint of - bacon? I get a hint of yeast as well. It pours a clear, coppery brown with a decent eggshell head. Malty flavor has a barbecue overtone, smoky and a little sweet, with hints of yeast and hops. Firm-bodied texture has good fizz. An interesting ale.

this scores pretty dang good on RB (95) but I didn't particularly care for it. You know who sets the bar in this style and I didn't think this beer could hold that beer's jock. The smoke was nice, especially in the aroma. Pretty aggressive, but the overly sweet and slightly cloying body and flavor made me think this is a one-timer for me.
