With roots in the working class streets of 18th Century London, the porter style of beer was meant to be a meal for energetic porters. Our own take on this traditional style has won Gold at the 2015 Canadian Brewing Awards, and Silver at the 2015 Ontario Brewing Awards. Try it now and see why our lovely brown beer is gold (and silver) in a glass.

Bottled on 02 12 15, written on back label. Pours a dark brown colour with ruby highlights. Frothy-creamy beige head with good retention and great creamy lacing. Beautiful roasted malt aromas with nutty notes and some coffee, caramel. Watery mouthfeel with some flavours of roasted malts, hops in the middle, hints of dark fruits. The bitterness is well-balanced. The charcoal feel is from the burnt malts, that lingers.

Quite a decent flavour with roasted malt, toffee, dark chocolate, some smokiness and a moderately hoppy finish. Dark brown body with a thin head that retains well but not much lacing. milk chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Medium mouthfeel. Not bad.

The beer poures a very dark brown, almost black, with a foamy brown head. The aroma was roasted malt, dark fruit, coffee, and vanilla. The mouthfeel was medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was coffee, dark chocolate, and vanilla. A very well made porter.
