It pours out the same color as it looks in the clear bottle. The aroma doesn't smell like rum more like mold spice. The mouthfeel is smooth but only medium. The taste is slightly sweet from the dark fruits.

Yet another I & G offering, the standard boxed 330 ml bottle for $4.99. At least they can make a nice looking, well packaged beer. Clear amber pour under a creamy beige head. Pleasant aroma, rum notes and of course malt. Flavour was not "absolutely delicious" (they're kidding, right?) but at least not disgusting either. Spiced rum notes and malt was about it. Mouthfeel just above average. Too sweet a finish.

Clear dark brown with lasting light brown foam head. Aroma is rum dominated with some sweet fruit notes. Taste is quite sweet, some fruits, some caramel, but mostly rum. Short aftertaste. (Farstanäs 201307)

330 ml clear bottle, rum finish. Matured for 57 days. ABV is 7.4%. Mahogany coloured beer, moderate to low off-white head. Aroma of caramel, vanilla, oak and brown rum. The medium sweet flavour has notes of the same elements, but also notes of raisins. Minimal hops.

The beer pours a red-hued gold colour with a short-lived head which disappears in seconds. Aroma is caramel, rum, wood, and light fruits. No spiciness that I can discern. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is wood, caramel, some rum, and some metallic notes. Nothing outstanding! -

A cloudy amber colored beer with a big sudsy textured, white head rising robustly above. There's decent hang time on the head. It settles eventually into a light dusting of clingly film and bif cap/ringlet atop the body. The wood of the cask comes through in the nose. The rum in the tasting. Light bodied. It's okay.

Single bottle from the LCBO. Pours a clean deep amber colour with a foamy head. No lacing is found. The nose is quite sweet with loads of toffee, and balanced by nuts, wood, rum alcohol, flowers and mild vanilla. Thankfully, the taste is not as sweet. Soft caramel malt at first, grainy in the middle and a little hop comes out in the finish. The vanilla-oak slightly comes out in the aftertaste. Always nice to see a new experiment from Innis & Gunn, but this one just misses the boat a bit (pun intended).

Ok I’m going to give Innis & Gunn another chance after a few years of boycotting this crappy beer company I decided to give it another chance. Clear amber brew with a creamy white cap floating on top. Sweet bready aroma with hints of spice, and honey. What is that fruit?!?!?!?! I can’t nail it down. Oak is starting to show now when warm. Buttery oak flavour with possible raspberry, rum is coming through. Wow this is not good, not good at all. How does this brewery keep making the same crappy oak aged beer. Malts are ok quality but the oak doesn’t complement it at all it just turns in to sweet butter drink. I guess there was a spice but at this point I don’t care. I think I need to give this place another three year break.
