Agree with suds mcduff, looks like flat coca-cola, no head or lace, practically no aroma, except very faint malt hints. Flavor was a bit better with a nutty, dark malt, and caramel taste. Overall solid, but unspectacular. Seeing how everyone else so far has given it high scores, i will retry and re-review.

Pours a very dark brown with airy, offwhite head. The aroma features toasted malt and sweet, grainy notes. The flavor is complexly malty and rich, delicious. Soft and gentle to the palate with a nice medium body. Fantastic sampler from Independence. Thanks to Dan, Timmy, Andy, Ed and the other KS guys for hauling it to Oklahoma.

Sampled from bottle, thanks to the Beer Trip 4.5 crew! Pours clear dark brown with a thin head. Rich, caramel & cocoa aroma. Slightly floral, too. Balanced flavor and malt dominant. Nutty and bready with a hint of dark roasted malts. No flaws. Nicely done.

Dark, dark brown, little head or lacing. Really roasty aroma. Robust roast and nutty flavor with a strong smokiness. The smokiness really made it interesting. Not bad.
