It pours a reddish-amber with no head and some lace. Aroma of caramel malts, citrus, hops, and mild spices. The mouthfeel is smooth, rich, and full-bodied. Flavors of caramel malts, light hops, citrus, berries, and mild spice.

Bottled by Bristol Brewing. Opportunity courtesy of the generous Mr. Bert. Light orange/amber color, nice initial head, good retention. Lacing was nil. Caramel was dominating in the aroma. Flavor was caramel, spices, slightly sweet, too sweet? Average mouthfeel, significant carbonation, slightly astringent, and a little sticky all at the same time. I don't like when caramel takes over my IPAs, and this had a sweetness added to it that was undesirable.

Pours a glowing hazy copper orange with an off-white head that goes to a soapy film that leaves some lacing.

The aroma is sweet sugary caramel and toffee malts, some figs, and some piney, resinous woody hops.

Its flavor is sweet caramel and toffee initially leading to a piney hop bang with a long sticky bitter aftertaste. The mouthfeel is smooth and velvety with just the right amount of carbonation, but does seem slightly watery at times.

Overall an excellent IPA! Vey nicely balanced.

'03 GABF. Nice American IPA with all of the goodness I like in an IPA. Hoppy, dry, flowery, delicious. A good one.
