Awards 2011 Bronze Medal in the North American Beer Awards. 2011 Silver Medal in the Canadian Brewers Awards. Food Pairing As a malty, spiced ale, it goes well with both savory and sweet items. Try it with cheese, nuts, and of course pumpkin pie. Our Bottle This re-closable bottle, known as a “pot-stopper”, was widely used in Europe and North America prior to the 1950s. Pours clear caramel with a fair buff head. Aroma provides cloves, cinnamon and toasted malt. Flavor offers cinnamon, clove, sweetness, toasted malt - autumny! Texture features good body and lively fizz. Eat dat pumpkin.

Love these 1L ceramic swing top bottles from these guys! Pours a huge amount of foamy beige head and has a light amber/coppery appearance. Pretty excessive carbonation. Mild aromas of pumpkin spice but much more nutmeg and cinnamon. Flavours are more nutmeg than anything else and also pumpkin spice, cinnamon, and hints of cloves. Pretty smooth and slick, drying mouthfeel. Light warming sensation. Ended up sharing this one. Good stuff.

I have sampled this big west cost pumpkin beer on a few occasions and it’s wonderful to see it available in the Ontario market. A hazy dark orange-amber high gravity (8%abv) pumpkin ale brewed with amber malt, fresh roasted pumpkin, west coast hops, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, star anise. Rich and spicy, it dries in the finish - a superior well-crafted big pumpkin ale. Comes in a 1 liter capped swing top bottle so you can finish it in 2 sittings. This beer is produced in very limited quantities each fall so if you see it on LCBO shelves snag it, it cellars fairly well.

First of all, what's with the 1 litre bottle? They must know it's too much to drink because it comes with a flip top stopper. I didn't really dig this beer. Felt very acidic on the tongue. Bottle date is August so unless it went off quickly, I'm avoiding this one. Not worth it buying another bottle to see if maybe thre first was flawed as I'm not into pumkin beers.

A nice big 1 Litre brown bottle from the LCBO with a cap, and a swing-cap to close it after opening. Pours a slight hazy, copper-amber colour, with an off-white head that is fizzy, but gives one glass a little coating over it. The other glass has not much. Some lacing as the brew goes down. Spicy aromas of cinnamon with notes of pumpkin and alcohol. Nice creamy-oily mouthfeel. A bit more spices going on in the taste, but still, all well-blended with nothing really sticking out like a knife. Cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, pumpking, grain malt and a touch of hop. Quite a nice Imperial pumpkin ale that I would buy anytime (especially for today - Halloween).

The beer pours a translucent dark orange colour with red highlights and a 1" off-white head which quickly recedes to a ring. Aroma was sour grains, sweet pumpkin, and plenty of spices. The mouthfeel is medium-full bodied, slightly creamy, with medium high carbonation. The flavour is definitely spiced pumpkin and sour grains. A sweet finish as opposed to bitter. Pretty nice beer, but far from my favourite pumpkin beer. -

Very creamy, that's the mouthfeel for sure! Everything a pumpkin beer should beer, more pumpkin than spice but I am very happy with that. Dark amber. Sweet, and after a half hour of drinking the residual sugar is apparent on my tongue and my inner cheek, which is salivating uncontrollably... hopefully I don't droll on someone soon. Burps are likewise pumpkin with some brown sugar. I would dig less of a syrupy mouthfeel and trade it for some more body... but inherent in pumpkin beers it seems. Is it this late in the season already? A slightly bitter hop with no aroma makes this 8% beer enjoyable. Alcohol hidden. Enjoyed once, not again till next year I think. 1L is just to much without food.... not to mention the 4 st.ambroise citronelles after.

From Brewery Creek; added to BP 21 Sept 2010. Another very nice beer from Howe Sound, in their pleasing 1 litre swing-top bottle. Poured a creamy, ivory, short-lived head over a body of clear, dark amber. Aroma was well laced with spiced pumpkin, likewise the taste. Rich, smmoth mouthfeel, and a sweetish finish.
