Milton LCBO Outlet #1 (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
March 17, 2010
The beer poured a semi-translucent orange-red with a generous 1" bubble tan coloured cap that slowly receded. The aroma was grains, nutty malt, and some floral hoppy hints. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, and mildy carbonated. The flavour was grainy malt, some grassiness, and a slight bitter finish.

Clear copper color, indeed tea like. Nko foam head worth mentioning. Weak aroma, coffee, tea. Taste is little bitter, refreshing. Aftertaste is dry old coffee. (Velp 201302)

I enjoyed this beer, although it had more in common with a Bitter than an EPA. Reddish in colour, thin tan head, and a bit cloudy. Citrusy hops dominate the flavour with a nice bitter finish.

1/2liter bottle. Pours a cloudy copper colored ale in the glass...modest rocky cap, fair lacing, lively effervescence. Mild aroma; mostly light sweetness caramel and fruitiness. Soft round mouth feel, mildly malted and well hopped,... orangey citrus turns to a mild bitterness not unlike tea with lemon. A very drinkable mild ale, well made with expert bottle conditioned character.

Pours orangy red with a small off white head that disappeared after a few minutes leaving very small specks of lace behind. Nice color tho. Aroma of biscuity malt, little bit of hops. Flavour has some bready maltiness and a nice bitter finish. Medium mouthfeel with low carbonation. Overall not bad but not my kinda brew.

New at the LCBO and my first for Hogs Back Brewery. Comes with a rubber seal (like the ones found one wine bottles) but with a cap underneath and best before 17JAN11. Pours a golden-amber, almost orange, colour that is clear, but with lots of minuscule particles all over. Average off-white head that disappear slowly and leaves a bit of lacing. Not much carbonation, except for the big bubbles stuck to the bottom of the glass and a few coming up to surface, from time to time. After shaking the bottom of the bottle, lots of slightly bigger particles come out and the beer gets a bit hazy. Very light aromas with some bready malt and a little hop. The mouthfeel is quite silky and smooth. A little bitterness goes through the taste, but it is that hop which I do not really like (because it taste rusty). Has a beautiful mild maple syrup that comes out in the aftertaste though. Hints of citrus and grass. Not bad overall, but had better bitters from England.

Cask handpump at the Westminster Arms, Westminster, London. Amber coloured with a slim white head. Nice hoppy taste with some caramel. Light bodied, very drinkable. Good bitter.

Light brown in color. Somewhat fruity taste, a little on the dry side. It had an off taste to it, I don't think it travelled well since it was in a clear bottle. It was a very delicate beer, it may have been very good if it was in good condition.
