Dark ruby redbrown with small light brown foam head. Little opaque. Aroma is caramel, coffee and toffee. Taste little chocolate, some coffee. NIce beer. (Karlsruhe 201309)

Some person passed this off the night of the FH gig, when Pals Karl und Austin were in town. Becks on Steroids in a fine way. Beat out the the regional dominatns in the Black Forest hands down. No go, on the odd locals. Still hard to find but guzzle when found.

A German porter, here among all the lager? This beer has a gorgeous mahogany-ruby color - very attractive in the glass. Syrupy, malty aroma almost seems like a part of the rich coloring. Doesn't disappoint in the taste category either. Very hoppy for a porter - big bitterness up front and a strong hop finish. A crisp, clean porter with some spicy hops. Easily my favorite porter to date.

Pours a nice brown color, beige head and moderate lace. Nose is malty and a touch of hops is also noted. Burnt malt start that is a tad sweet, the middle thin, the finish is quite hoppy, which saves this beer, drinkable, but not a great porter or one I would search out.
