Amber German Lager, with a toasty malt character, and a low to medium hop character. This style of beer was called Marzen for the month in which they were brewed. When brewing resumed again in the fall, the remaining stocks of Marzen were brought out for Octoberfest. By this means, a single style of beer came to be known by the two names of Marzen and Octoberfest. Marzen has an ABV of 5.4% and 23 IBU.
