Gin Barrel Saison is the result of working with distillers around Vermont to reuse barrels from some of the best spirits around Our inaugural batch features barrels from Caledonia Spirits in Hardwick, VT that were used to age their Tom Cat gin. Batch two highlights the botanical flavors of Stonecutter Spirits in Middlebury, VT. Our saison picks up smooth vanilla notes from the American oak, and herbal characters of ginger, honey, and juniper from the gin. The result is a bone-dry, easy drinking beer that we are extremely proud of. Look for future releases featuring other local spirit barrels as well!

Can which is hard to read, as silver writing on grey. Pours a hazy golden colour with a white cap and some decent lacing. Big sour nose with some smooth vinegar notes and cherries. Hints of gin barrel show in the background. These do not show in the taste though. Quick sour start going into a grainy malt and finishing on big tarty yeast. This end is not appealing to me. Not sure if older and lacking taste all the way, but wish the gin notes would show up all-along.
