Evil Cousin is Heretic’s take on a West coast imperial IPA. This beer is a bold, in-your-face hop monster. It has a light, easy drinking malt character that allows the hops to stand out. The hop character in this beer is intentionally on the dank side; big, sticky, and aggressive. This beer is for those of you who can’t get enough hops. Join us on the dank side.

650 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.0%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Lovely aroma of fruity and piney American hops - notes of tropical fruits, citrus and pine needles. Lots of fruit, pine needles and resin in the slightly sweet flavour too. Bitter finish, very bitter aftertaste.

A bright golden orange colored beer with a big sudsy textured off white head rising above. There's good hang time on the head. It settles into a persistent cap and moderate ringlet. Floral and citric hops dance out in the nose. Those hops balanced by a caramel malt, slight as it was. Effervescent and refreshing.

Sampled on 3/31/2012. This Imperial India Pale Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head with nice retention and good lacing. The aroma is hoppy, citrusy and herbal, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet, tons of orange. The hops are citrusy, grapefruity and herbal. A whole lotta hops balanced with a big malt backbone. The hops are up front and the malts are in the background. Juicy hops. Medium to high bitterness IPA. Nice balance. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter.
