Pours out very dark brown with a foamy head that vanishes very quickly. The aroma is malt and maple. The mouthfeel is pretty average. The taste is malt, nuts and a note of chocolate.

Pours dark chestnut in color with an amber hue and good clarity. Sweet dark and toasted malt aromas with hints of brown sugar, molasses and dark fruit. Medium bodied with rich, aggressive carbonation. Caramel and toasted malt flavors up front followed by ripe fruit and molasses. Malt and fruit flavors fade in the middle giving way to a brief nuttiness that immediately transitions to lightly bitter floral hoppiness that carries through to the end. Finishes semi-dry with a dark molasses and light bitter hop aftertaste. Overall this has nice character and was on the sweet side.

Solid brew for a brown ale, but nothing too exciting. Slightly better than the average brown...decent body and carbonation, aroma and flavor slightly more robust than the norm. Malted chocolate, light nutiness, earthy hops, and a touch of bittersweet in the finish.

This ale poured a dark brown color, produced an average tan head, poor retention but left nice lacing on the glass. The aroma consisted of toasted malt and some mild nuttiness. Medium in body, the foundation of this ale is of toasted malt, caramel and roasted nuts. Overall, this is an average brown ale, better then most, not as good as some. Decent session beer, its worth a try.

An ok brown....thought it would be better based on the brewer. About average for the style. Balance leans towards the sweeter side....seems a bit off but bottle coulda been old. On the thinner side malt-wise...but just slightly. One of those "been there done thats"

When it's all said and done with this beer, it's a pretty average brown ale that has a few redeeming qualities. It looked beautiful in my glass and the flavor seemed to hit all the right notes and stayed within the lines of the style.
The aroma was a bit uninspired with some ragged dirty penny notes that just wouldn't go away, no matter the temp or swirl. Flavor had just the right amount of nutty sweetness, light chocolate (almost like a chocolate graham cracker) and a light toasted note to it. It's not a world-shaker, but decent. -

Requisite brown pour, light tan head, good lacing. Nice brown sugar and toasted malt aroma, sweet, like shortbread cooking, a touch of nuts and earthy hops. Good flavor - lightly sweetened grains, light toast and nuts, some more earthy hops, brown sugar, very little bitter - just enough. Straight up good Brown Ale.

Malty aroma has caramel and fruity notes and a hint of molasses. It pours a dark, slightly hazy cola brown with a fairly thick, fine-bubbled, pale beige head. Mouth-filling flavor has a malty core and caramel, nutty and apple tones plus a hint of - cola? Rather tasty and enjoyable. Smooth texture has average fizz and body. Worth a try.
