From the Sunken Sampler (or some such thing)... I wasn't expecting much, but it surprised me by being better than my expectations. Pours golden-amber with a faint head and nice lacing. A hoppy/sweet nose and flavor with a clean finish make this a very pleasant brew.

This came part of my beer of the month selection. A easy drinking beer but nothing that wows you. A golden pour with aromas of grass and citrus. Not much head, but smooth and easy going down.

Pours a honey yellow with a tight decent white head and some lacing. Sweet bready aroma with a touch of fruits and hops. Taste is non-remarkable but nice with slightly sweetness from malts and a very slight bitter in the end. "Drinkable" is what comes to mind.

A beer of the month club entry for the March/April 2010 shipment. This beer appears to have been rebranded as "Heavy Seas Gold Ale". Pours as a -- strangely -- "gold" color, short lived head and little lacing. Refreshing light taste that went well with a meal of artichokes and roast beef. A nice change from the heavier IPA's and Porters that we all love.

poured what was described...gold, but it had a ton of "floaties" which didn't do a ton for the look of it. The taste was decent though. It has a nice malt hop balance. A decent session brew for sure.

From a bottle. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head that doesn't last long. Aroma is grassy and slightly malty. Flavor is light with a slight hop presence. An easy drinker, but nothing I'd go out of my way for.

nice average beer. nothing strong or complex. But a good overall flavor. Gold color, crisp feeling, touch of citrusy hops. No problem pounding several of these. Wouldn't go outta my way looking for it, but i also wouldn't turn it down if it was available.

A very drinkable beer, this wasn't that impressive. Comparing my experience with those below, I'm assuming this product varies a bit even in the local market. The pour was amber-orange in color with a thin head that yielded good lacing. The aroma was more like that of a pale ale. The flavor was pretty malty and lightly fruited, but had enough of a pine hop finish to it to keep it honest (although more malty than hoppy). Very easy to drink, but nothing special.

Dark gold color. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity, floral and sweet with a touch of grapefruit. A medium bodied blond/golden ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are grapefruity and floral but not very bitter. Has some flavor but is true to its gold/blonde ale roots. Nice session beer for a warm summer day. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

mmm.appetizing light gold color. an average head that doesnt stick around too long. light/medium body and a nice effervesance. This almost smells like a pale ale with orange candy scents........... one of the most drinkable beers i've ever had, .......swallows with a lovely light citrus hop fragrance thats a little fruity/floral (white grapes?) and just enough............perfectly balanced with a malty character of a german lager and a great lively finish of an american ale. The hops are not overpowering at all and this is something anyone can enjoy....... Bitterness runs away as quickly as it arrived and leaves a clean, slightly dry, but quenching sweet-grainy aftertaste....... Leaves me wondering what my taste buds have just experienced and also wanting to consume mass quantities of this DELICIOUS brew. I want to try more from clipper city.
