“Spring” in New England is a fickle friend. So we brewed a beer that could carry us through the January cold while hinting at warmer days ahead. With notes of orange peel and coriander, the soft mouthfeel of a Belgian wit, and an intense hop profile, The Long Thaw White IPA combines the warming backbone of an IPA with citrus notes indicative of the coming spring. “Spring” in New England may be indecisive, but we can help make one decision a little easier. The Long Thaw White IPA style blends the spiciness of a Belgian Wit and the American hop character of an IPA.

Pours a slightly hazy golden with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled pale buff head. Pomme fruity mainly pear, dominates the aroma but let’s through malty and evergreen hop notes. Hops however, are the strongest note in the palate, and take the stage with pear, Mandarin orange, and malty tones. Strong tingle in the mouthfeel helps you feel it all the way down. A spring beer, but great for summer too.

An IPA? A cloudy yellow-orange colored beer with a small, two fingered head that disappears fairly quickly, leaving a thick ringlet. Bold spicy, wheat nose. Even more so in the tasting.Light-medium and effervescent.

Slightly cloudy body with some suspended particles. The headf reduces to a thin soapy ring that leaves some spotty lace. Aromas of herbal and citrus hops some malts, wheat and faint traces of funk and booze. Flavor is much the same the hops get a little bitter but the malts come out a bit more. Overall its ok but not one of the better white IPA's available.
