Leviathan Quad was fermented with a blend of two traditional Trappist yeasts. A mixture of two-row pale malts, caramel malts, and special aromatic malts gives the Quad its richness and texture. The subtle hop flavor imparted from Brewer’s Gold hops lingers in the background and provides just enough bitterness to balance the malt sweetness. The addition of imported Belgian Dark Candi Syrup rounds out the beer, giving the Quad its full body and deep auburn color. Expect notes of honeyed dry fruit with peppery phenols in the aroma, a velvet-like mouthfeel, and a superbly drinkable beer. Original Released: March 2009

Pours a dark ruby red with almost no head and leaves no lacing. The aroma was of sweet malt, raisins, plums, dry figs, alcohol, slight hops, and the slightest caramel malt ever. The taste was very sweet burnt malt up front with sweet fresh raisins in the middle and a dark plum finish. Alcohol makes it's presence known as well. The mouthfeel adds some additional alcohol flavor with almost no carbonation and an extremely heavy body.

From kinger in a recent trade; pour a murky orange amber with a nice sustained creamy head and massive lacing. Nice sweet ripe bananas in the forefront of the aromas with sweet ripe fruits, brown sugar, malts, a hint of black pepper. Taste is rich and a true sipper as kinger alluded to, nice creamy texture with the ripe bananas and fruits with a slight spiciness and warming alcohol. Big, nice beer from Harpoon - thank you Cory for sending this monster.

Age will not hurt this ox, but it drinks great right now. This is a huge beer that really impressed me, I haven’t been wowed like this for a while. Hazy, amber brown in color with a large, frothy tan head and immense lacing. Dark, musty fruit aromas with a prominence of cherry and plum. Rich malts coupled by black licorice and a hint of banana. Smells truly wonderful. Thick with an alcohol kick that fits right in. Creamy and musty sweet, this one is a heavy sipper. A mixture of flavors showcasing Raisin, plums, star anise, clove, banana, and a thick red wine. Rich, layered, complex and wonderful.
