Harpoon Brown is brewed to accentuate the sweeter, rounder notes derived from six different malts, including a de-husked chocolate malt that adds a hint of chocolate. The blend of these malts produces a beer that is complex and delicious without being heavy. This drinkable beer is perfect as a session beer or paired with foods.

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8
It's got a sweet dark reddish brown color and excellent clarity. A small head is formed which quickly fades out. The aroma is light with some floral hop notes. Its flavor is a wonderful mix of caramel, maple, brown sugar, with roasted and toasted malts. All of which are tempered with a pleasing hop bitterness that floats around on the tongue. Its medium body and soft carbonation give it a smooth mouth feel that is very drinkable. Well done!

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 6
Aroma is nutty with some chalky overtones as well as some light chocolate and some slight burnt malts. Appearance is a light to medium brown in color when held to the light with some burgundy overtones with a full head on top that is light-tan in color that soon dissipates to creamy lacing that sticks to the glass and is tan in color. Mouthfeel is medium in body with complex maltiness as well as accentuated with some slight hops with a palate that is clean and well-rounded. Flavor is of dark or munich malts with some chocolate and some slight coffee or mocha with an aftertaste that is a bit dry with some wet hops (Fuggle?) and has a finish thAat is full and tasty given the style. Overall, good brown ale here and is a great session ale; I like this brew for sure...full of flavor, yet low in alcohol.
