This one poured a cloudy amber color with a weak head. Had a malty aroma and the flavor showed a good malt backbone with a nice hop bite. Had a nice bitter finish.

Full speed a head! Aye aye, capn! It has a flavor to it distantly relating to the wintery ales, January in Wisconsin it suites me well. Like a hint of the smokey barky flavor. Thumbs up. Definite winter ale flavor.

Pours a copper colour in body with a moderately sized floral head. Lightly hopped, the roasted malts in the body is a little more obvious. Soft citrus fruit throughout the beer.

(Rated for its labelled type) Bottle dated 11Sep06. Started out well enough with a real pretty appearance, light copper in color and with a real big, fluffy, puffy head. But alas, it sadly didn't deliver. Aroma is absent anything noteworthy. Mouthfeel is watery and nondescript. Flavor is all malt and yeast, and to my palate virtually devoid of hops (this followed a New Glarus Hearty Hop). NOT in any way representative of an IPA, IMHO. Oh, by the way, it does leave scads of nice lacing. Score points for apearance, but sorry, that's all you'll get with this one.

This beer had an initial mild hopiness that I enjoyed. It was a very smooth mouthfeel, and to tell the truth, I prefer a bitter IPA. This however was very smooth with a better drinkability, meaning I could have quite a few. not to bad.

Medium brown color. Small white foamy head. Aroma is malty and citrusy. A medium bodied IPA. Malts are surprisingly nutty and sweet. Hops are grapefruity and piney. NOT a typical IPA, the hoppiness is there, but the malts are more like a brown ale. It make for a interesting/confusing combination. Nicely balanced. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
