This beer has been brewed especially for my wife, Nicole. Just like her, it's a little sweet, and a little bitter. Brewed in the American Brown tradition, this hoppy ale is nut brown in colour (just liker her hair and eyes). The addition of two different British crystal malts give the beer a sweet, fruity flavor while the Belgian Biscuit and Chocolate malts lend a deep nutty character (draw your own conclusions) to finish. I've used UK Goldings and Yakima Valley Cascade hops to add a flowery citrus finish to the beer. Try it with a ploughman's lunch of Rye bread, Asiago cheese, and deli pickles. Serve at 8 degrees celcius in a nonic pint glass. Unfiltered and unpasturized.

I remember when the term half-pint referred to a pip-squeak. Boy am I old. A cloudy brown pour, huge head, huge aroma. Very hoppy aroma with citrusy hops, pine, and a bit of roasted malt. The flavour is a mishmash. Some cocoa, some dark fruit, and grapefruity hops. Decent, interesting, but not great.

Standard looking brown ale, its brown with the normal red showing when held to the light. AWSOME AROMA!!!!!!!! This aroma is mind blowing, drool, inducing, pant creaming awesomeness!!!!!!!!! That is to say I like it. Sweet burnt milk chocolate that is only slightly bitter, a perfect amount of flowery hops, and the key element to me overly enjoy this aroma is the yummy sent of roasted almonds. This is the best smelling beer for me in a long time. Taste is ok but a far cry from the killer stink of the beer. Taste is nice and smooth with luckily only mild coffee showing up. Malts are nutty clean and complemented by bakers chocolate. Taste starts to go thin and slightly sour when beer hits room temp. Drink this beer cold for best results!!!!! Yep now that its warm its chalky and bitter and the malts seem to disappear. Ok beer it fell apart towards the end but still descent to drink.

Bottle courtesy of Oakbluff: Poured a deep brown color ale with an average foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of deep caramel and toffee malt is quite interesting. Taste is a nice mix between some caramel and toffee malt notes with a medium dry hoppy finish. Full body with some good carbonation. Very well done over all but was hoping ( and would have like) a hoppier finish.

660ml Bomber ( Thanks Kris) Pours a deep dark chestunt brown turbid, ale in the glass with a glorious sticky-rocky mocha-colored 3 finger cap. lasts and laces the glass sides.( lots of malt protiens in this brew kids) Wonderful American ale aromas...pungent cascade floral-citrus in the nose is balanced by sweet crystal malt tones and a bit of cocoa from the black malts...delicious! Light in character but rich and medium bodied with a distinctive balance. Flavor starts well balanced between chewy nutty malts and fruity esters in balance with sturdy floral bittering from the hops....mid palate the savory impressions develop as the flavors mingle on the palate: walnut skins with biscuit, chocolate, tobacco, tart fruits cedar bitters...then the finish breaks clean with increasing metallic bittering from the hops mingling with the astrigency from the "char" of the black malts....in a blind taste I bet a lot of people would say this was a porter. A delicious dark brown ale in the American style...I envy the brewer if his wife has the character this beer displays ;-)

One of the better brown ales I have tried. I have sampled as many half pints products as I can and have enjoyed everyone so far.
